Beach always allures the nature lovers and in Orissa the long stretch of golden yellow sand at Puri with its ever impatient tides is an exotic sight. Contending with it are the Silent Beach of Chandrabhaga, or the blue bay of Gopalpur & the receding water of Chandipur. There is also a little known beach -The 'Astraranga' beach slightly away from puri so named because of the multi coloured horizon it acquires during the beginning and end of the day.

The weather being pleasant and the water being shallow is safe for recreation purposes and also the area is not so polluted . Therefore is a good tourist place for the nature loving people. And people who like to enjoy the serene atmosphere. The receding water of Chandipur is a magical sight. And not to forget the rocky beach of Paradip where the tides hit against the rocks to create a rich foam of salt water.

Another exotic place besides the beaches is the brakish lake of 'Chilika', It is the mating place of migratory birds. So one can have a view of different kinds of birds and a range of brilliant colours along with it.
